Before we get started with typing/keyboarding today, I wanted to show you how to use Google Calendar:
- Sign in to your Gmail account.
- At the top of your screen you can click a link that says "Calendar".
- You can select different views (Day, Week, Month, etc.) -- but let's stick with Week for now.
- Notice the US Holidays button (which you can toggle on/off if you would like)
- Click the "Create" button and enter the information for your first event.
- Notice there is a "Reminder" option which you can set to email you or pop-up on your computer.
- Some events you can add:
- Birthdays / Anniversaries
- School Events
- 9/28 Minimum Day
- 10/31 Minimum Day
- 11/4 1st Quarter Ends
- 11/11 Holiday
- 11/21-11/25 Thanksgiving Break
- 12/19-12/23 and 12/26-12/30 Winter Break
- 1/16 Minimum Day
- 1/25-1/27 Minimum Day
- 1/27 End of 1st Semester
- 2/15 Minimum Day
- 2/20 Holiday
- 3/7 Minimum Day
- 3/28 Minimum Day
- 4/6 Minimum Day
- 4/6 3rd Quarter Ends
- 4/9-4/13 Spring Break
- 5/9 Minimum Day
- 5/28 Holiday
- 6/12-6/15 Minimum Day
- 6/15 4th Quarter Ends

Next we will continue with our typing. Yesterday we saved our typing accounts to ThawSpace so they would be safe when the computers were restarted. Today we will locate those accounts and continue typing.
- Open MicroType Pro from your desktop.
- Click on the "Locate" button.
- Use the pull-down menu to select "t: ThawSpace".
- Open the folder with your name [we created these yesterday].
- If you created a "Typing" folder, open that.
- Click OK.
- If you see your name highlighted in the list, click OK.
- Type in the password you created yesterday.
- Click OK.
- Click the green "A" (Alphabetic Keyboarding)
- Continue where you left off.
